How to Watch Disney+ from Desktop to TV Using Chromecast

Disney+ has become one of Netflix’s biggest competitors after its release, and we all know the reason why. We mean — who doesn’t love Disney movies and TV shows, right? Watching our favorite childhood shows can really take us back to the good old days. However, even if we can afford a monthly Disney+ subscription, not all of us can afford a smart TV to watch our beloved Disney content on a big screen. Thankfully, there are now streaming devices that allow you to cast different content from your desktop and mobile to your TV.

If you have a Google Chromecast and can’t seem to figure out how to watch Disney+ from your Desktop to your TV, we’re here to help you. Of course, this guide isn’t only limited to Disney+ because the guide we’ll share is also applicable to other streaming services like Netflix, Sling TV, and HBO Max.

What You’ll Need

There are only a few things you need whenever you want to watch Disney+ from your desktop to the TV. For you to follow this guide correctly, you’ll need the following:

  • Google Chromecast device
  • Chromecast-compatible TV
  • Compatible web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, etc.)
  • An active Disney+ subscription
  • A functional desktop or laptop computer
  • A fast and stable internet connection

How to Cast Disney+ from Desktop to TV Using Chromecast

Once you have everything you need, we’ll guide you through the process of casting Disney+ from your desktop to your TV. Again, this guide can also be used for other streaming services like Netflix, Sling TV, and Go Latino TV. Just make sure that your Chromecast is plugged in and already properly set before following this guide. Let’s start!

  1. Open Your Browser

The first step is to open your web browser on your desktop or laptop. Ensure that you’re using a compatible browser for Chromecast, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox. If you don’t have one of these browsers installed, it’s recommended to download and install them for a smoother experience.

  1. Go to Disney+

Once your browser is open, go to the Disney+ website and log in to your account. Make sure your subscription is active, as you won’t be able to access the content without a valid subscription.

Chromecast to TV
  1. Choose a Movie or TV Series

After you’ve successfully logged in, choose any content you want to watch on the app.

  1. Look for the Cast Button

Go to the three-dot menu (kebab button) located at the upper corner of your screen. It’s the place where you can manually add new tabs, new windows, and more. Look for the “Cast” button and click it. This button is usually below the Print button and above the Find button on Chrome.

Chromecast to TV Steps
  1. Select Your Chromecast Device

After clicking the Cast button, a pop-up window will appear, displaying all available Chromecast devices on your Wi-Fi network. Select the Chromecast device that is connected to your TV.

  1. Start Casting

Once you have selected your Chromecast device, the casting process will begin. The Disney+ content will now be displayed on your TV. You can control the playback using the Disney+ app on your desktop or laptop.

NOTE: You won’t be able to control the app directly from your TV. It will only work if you’re using the casting device. If your desktop is far away from the TV or the living room area, we recommend using your mobile phone instead. The process is still the same. You just need to open the app (most streaming services have this already, like Hulu, HBO, and Planet Dish), log in, choose content, and then look for the cast button that’s usually located at the upper corner of the screen.

Final Thoughts

Having a Chromecast device gives you a lot of opportunities to enjoy many things that only a smart TV can do, such as streaming Disney+ on your TV. But of course, Chromecast can be more than that. You can also listen to music or mirror your Android device on your TV. It’s definitely worth every penny you spend, so congratulations, and enjoy watching!
