This page covers the personal data techrt.com handles: what the site collects, why, which companies process it for us, and the controls you have. Sites we link to follow their own policies.

In brief
- TechRT is free to read because it carries ads. Raptive runs those ads, and Raptive and its advertising partners use cookies and device data to decide which ads you see.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity show us how articles are read. Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits without cookies.
- Comments and contact messages are kept so we can publish and answer them.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent tool asks before advertising and analytics cookies are used. In US states with opt-out laws, a link at the bottom of the page stops ad data sharing, and the Global Privacy Control signal is honored.
Advertising
This site is affiliated with CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) for the purposes of placing advertising on the site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. Raptive’s own practices are set out in the Raptive Advertising Privacy Statement.
The ads are interest-based. To choose them, Raptive, Google and the ad companies bidding through Raptive read and store identifiers in your browser and receive your IP address, approximate location, device and browser details, the pages you open here and how you respond to ads. Some of them link that information with what they learn on other websites. Ad space is sold in automated auctions, so the companies involved can differ on every page view. Videos in Raptive’s player follow the same rules.
Ways to limit ad tracking:
- EEA, UK and Switzerland. Raptive’s consent tool, which follows the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework, asks for your permission first. The privacy settings link at the bottom of the page reopens it so you can change your answer.
- US states with privacy laws. Select “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” at the bottom of the page. A browser that sends Global Privacy Control gets the same result automatically.
- Anywhere. Adjust Google’s ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies with the DAA WebChoices tool. These opt-outs live in cookies, so clearing your cookies undoes them.
Sponsored posts and affiliate links
Some articles are paid for by a company and labeled as sponsored. Some contain affiliate links, and TechRT may earn a commission when you buy through one. As an Amazon Associate, TechRT earns from qualifying purchases. The store you land on sets its own cookies under its own policy. Sponsors and affiliate partners receive no reader data from us.
Analytics
- Google Analytics 4 records pages viewed, how visitors found them, approximate location, device and browser type, and on-page events such as clicks on outbound links. Google Signals is switched on, which adds aggregate demographic and cross-device reports for people whose Google account settings permit ad personalization. Analytics data is deleted after 14 months. Google processes it under Google’s privacy policy.
- Microsoft Clarity captures scrolling, clicks and pointer movement to produce heatmaps and session replays. Anything typed into a form is masked before it leaves your browser. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits, referring sites and countries. It sets no cookies and collects no personal data.
For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics and Clarity run without cookies until you agree in the consent tool. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, they run without cookies wherever you are.
Comments and messages
- Comments. The site stores the name, email address, optional website and text you submit, along with your IP address, browser user agent and the submission time. Only the name, website and comment appear publicly. Before a comment goes live, its text, IP address and user agent are checked for spam by Akismet, a service of Automattic. Profile pictures beside comments come from Gravatar: our server looks them up using a hashed form of the commenter’s email address.
- Contact form. Your name, email address and message are emailed to our inbox through Gmail, Google’s email service. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a script, is sending the form.
Hosting and security
TechRT runs on Hostinger servers and reaches you through Cloudflare, which caches pages and screens out attacks. Both keep logs of IP addresses, requested URLs, times and browser details. MalCare provides a firewall and malware scanning, and it keeps backups of the site, including its database of comments. Actions taken by our own staff accounts are written to an activity log.
Cookies and similar storage
- Consent records. Raptive’s consent tool stores your answer so it doesn’t ask on every page.
- Analytics.
_gaand_ga_*from Google Analytics;_clckand_clskfrom Clarity. - Advertising. Set by Raptive and its partners, for example
__gadsand__gpi(Google),cto_bundle(Criteo), and identifiers from ID5, LiveRamp and The Trade Desk. The exact list changes with the ads being served.
Your browser settings can block or clear cookies. Articles still load without them; ads may become less relevant.
Retention
- Comments stay published until they are removed, which you can request at any time.
- Contact emails are kept while we need them to reply.
- Google Analytics data is deleted after 14 months.
- Server, CDN and security logs rotate on the schedules our providers set, usually days to weeks. Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle.
- Advertising data is kept as described in Raptive’s statement and each partner’s own policy.
Legal bases in the EEA and UK
Advertising and analytics cookies rely on your consent. Security logging, spam filtering and delivering the site rely on our legitimate interest in keeping TechRT online and safe. Publishing your comment and answering your message rely on your request to us.
Your rights and how to use them
Depending on the law that covers you (for example the GDPR in the EU and UK, California’s CCPA and comparable state laws, or India’s DPDP Act), you may have the right to see the personal data held about you, correct it, delete it, limit or object to its use, take a copy, withdraw consent, and opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising. Email admin[@]techrt.com or use the contact page. We reply within 30 days and may first ask you to confirm who you are. Requests about advertising data can also go straight to Raptive, as its statement explains. You may complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
TechRT is a general-audience technology site and isn’t meant for children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If a child has posted personal details here, tell us and we will delete them.
Processing outside your country
Hostinger, Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, Automattic, Raptive and Raptive’s partners handle data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. Where the law calls for it, they transfer data under safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
